a5c7b9f00b Michael Westen, a seasoned U.S. spy, is suddenly "burned", i.e. discredited, without any form of procedure. He survives by doing impossible jobs for desperate people in Miami, where his mother lives. Michael is usually aided by his ex-girlfriend Fiona and trusted former FBI informer Sam. Professional spies don't just get fired like regular people. Instead, they get "burned". And when you are burned, you're exposed and left with absolutely nothing to your name. No cash, no credit, no credit score, no job history, and you're stuck in whatever city the agency decides to leave you in. Michael Westen is one such spy. He was burned and decides to take his revenge on the people who burned him. But in order to do so, he decides he cannot do this alone, so he teams up with people from his past. His former partner Sam Axe, an ex-Navy SEAL who used to rat on him to the FBI and more than enjoys a good cocktail or two. And his on again, off again ex-girlfriend Fiona Glenanne, who enjoys explosives and firearms as much as fashion and yogurt. Together, they take on cases that help individuals throughout the city of Miami, while Michael puts together the pieces of the puzzle about the people that burned him. And they will need lots of yogurt and C4 in order to do so. I loved the premise of a burnt spy doing freelance work while trying to find out who burnt him and why.

Pros- I love the narration, that to me makes the show. Knowing what the main character is doing, why and the intended result is interesting. I like the camaraderie between Sam, Fionna, Madeline, Jessie and Michael. I like when they involve Madeline in their "jobs". It's pretty cool watching her evolve into an honorary spy. The fight scenes are always fun to watch too.

Cons - The whole "Robin hood" style approach can get old and there are times where I think the characters are too noble (primarily using bean bag rounds is a little silly). Fiona is attractive but not the end all like the show portrays her. In 7 seasons I only ever saw one guy resist her charms. Really?? No woman is that hot. I really don't like how Michael can be manipulated so easily. He is repeatedly blackmailed throughout the series making him appear weak. The acting is like the start of an adult oriented film. I was waiting for the good bits to start but they never came. I will give it some praise, the fight scene in the first episode is comical. Is every other comment left by Jeffrey Donovan and his family and friends? The Irish accent in it is painful, did Gabrielle Anwar aka Fiona get it in a box of lucky charms. It reminds me of bad leprechaun films, not leprechaun in the hood, that was class. This show is not like monk, well, its similar its a television show, thats about it. "One of the best" what have you been watching? Are you confused about the name and misspelled it or something? They should get Bruce Campbell to slowly take over the show and turn it into The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.. Who's with me?
